Filipinos are known to be people who love technology. Studies have shown that the Philippines is one of the top ten countries with most citizens who use the internet, they are number one when it comes to text messaging and they are also on the top ten in playing computer games. Filipino gamers have been competing internationally since long ago, but they are still unnoticed not just by government but also to some TV networks. Philippines has been crowned grand champions among seven South East Asian nations in three categories (DotA, HoN, SC2), but media deems it ‘not news-worthy’. I personally think that the government should be open to the Filipino gamers because they are not only a bunch of computer game addicts but rather a community. They’ve said that ‘In order to learn one must change one’s mind’, but if we don’t want to be left behind we must change. The world won’t change for us; its us that should adapt.
